Travis Kelce speaks about his retirement – How long will Kelce play in the NFL? The factors that his retirement will depend on

Travis Kelce will need to take care of one key factor if he wants to remain in the NFL for years to come.

That’s according to former Super Bowl-winning tight end Vernon Davis, who has been speaking about Kelce following the Kansas City Chiefs star’s decision to restructure his contract.

The Chiefs did a solid by Kelce, agreeing to restructure his contract, making him the highest-paid tight end. Kelce will earn more than $34 million over the next two years.

The timing is a little strange. While Kelce and the Chiefs continued their dynasty with another Super Bowl win last season, the famed tight end did not enjoy the best of seasons.

The 34-year-old was third among tight ends for receptions, but he ended the regular season way down in ninth when it came to touchdowns. He notably made key drops in the playoffs but battled through and showed his metal in the all-important Super Bowl.

With a newly structured mega contract, the question now is how long Kelce will play for, given he is already 34 years of age. Former tight end Vernon Davis has weighed in on that particular conversation.

“He’s good at taking care of his body. I think it all boils down to how well he takes care of his body and how effective he can be in them winning football games,” Davis told Fox News Digital.

Kelce has shown he is able to stay fit even well into his thirties, playing 15 regular season games and four post-season games in 2023.

In fact, the only season he didn’t manage more than 15 games since reaching the NFL was in his rookie season when he struggled with a knee injury.
