Breaking her silence on Good Morning Britain, Sarah Ferguson was grilled over Kate Middleton and King Charles III’s cancer scares as she issued an emotional response

Sarah Ferguson spoke out about Kate Middleton and King Charles III’s health ordeals and she responded with emotion.

The Duchess of York was back in the spotlight for the first time since her cancer scare, which was closely followed by the news that the monarch, 75, and the Princess of Wales had been diagnosed with the illness themselves.

While she continues her own recovery, after being given the all-clear by her doctors in March 2024, “Fergie” was grilled by Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis this Wednesday and asked how Kate Middleton and King Charles were holding up amid their health battles.

Well, I mean this is what’s so amazing. I am so, so proud of the King going to Cancer Research UK, and becoming the royal patron and going out there and talking to all these people,” she first said, referring to the monarch diving back into his public duties after his return to the limelight.

“It gives everybody that wonderful feeling that they are being listened to, and I thought that was very brave of him to do that,” Sarah added.

When questioned over the Princess of Wales, she was once again full of admiration as she referred to Kate’s video message in which she shared her cancer news: “Lovely Princess Catherine doing the video was so brave. I think family unity is an extraordinary thing and I’m honestly just so proud and I just send them lots of love and lots of support.”

Susanna then asked to know how “Fergie” was coping herself after facing breast and skin cancer and the duchess was very candid in her response: “All these years I’ve been thinking ‘am I good enough? Am I this, am I that? Do I get my finances right? Do I do this?’

“Actually, suddenly now with a mastectomy and then with malignant melanoma, every single day, it’s not a wake up call, it’s now a new normal”, she admitted, adding: “You can never say you’re cancer free but you can say that I’m doing well, Susanna, and I’m very lucky, but I really am determined.”

While she was open about her health, Sarah refused to bring up her former husband Prince Andrew’s feud with King Charles as battle lines were drawn over the Royal Lodge.

King Charles is said to have “pressured” Andrew to move out of the Windsor home he shares with Sarah, despite the pair’s divorce in May, 1996.

Bringing up the feud, Martin warned his guest “Bit of a dampener… obviously, you live with Prince Andrew in Royal Lodge. Do we know what’s going on with that?” he pressed.
