The King of the United Kingdom has wanted to see his grandchildren for some time

he King of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth could be set for a royal visit to the United States as the patriarch of the British Royal Family looks to calm tensions with his son, Prince Harry, in their years-long feud.

The Duke of Sussex quit his role as a working member of his family in 2021 and relocated to California along with his wife and their only child at the time, Archie. There, they’ve attempted to forge their own life and have even had a second child named Lilibet, but haven’t mended bridges across the pond.

Their grandfather, who is close with Prince William’s three children, is keen to improve the relationship with Prince Harry and his kids since he only sees them remotely via video call and he has been backed by his wife, Queen Consort Camilla as they look to improve their bond.

“Charles has had discussions about an official visit to the United States at some time in the future,” royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror. “And there is no doubt if it goes ahead he would build in time to visit his youngest son and his grandchildren.

“But there are mountains of planning to be overcome before that becomes even a remote possibility.

“King Charles has privately visited many other countries – he made an unpublicised visit to Transylvania for example to check up on his rental properties – so it’s certainly possible that he would make a discreet private visit to Harry and the children in California.

“He is desperate to see them and hates the idea that Archie and Lily will not remember him as the warm friendly grandfather he wants to be.”

Prince Harry bids to move back to the UK

When Prince Harry quit the family, he lost the rights to maintain and keep the Frogmore Cottage property awarded to him by those higher up the ascendency, so he currently does not have anywhere permanent to stay whenever he plans to visit.

That’s left the 39-year-old reportedly looking for a new home, prompted by the diagnosis of cancer to his father and his own return to his birth nation for the Invictus Games. There is also a legal question about whether he will ever be awarded American citizenship.

It’s reported that he’s lining up a Georgian home near the King’s Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, some 106 miles away from the heart of London although nothing is bound in stone yet.
