Prince William and Princess Kate are hiding a not so little secret behind their Windsor home – an abandoned dilapidated annexe building which would provide a solution to their spatial needs.According to a source, the Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be considering plans to renovate and extend the redbrick annexe Next to Adelaide Cottage which would take them off the ‘consideration list’ for Royal Lodge.

“There is quite a considerably sized property that has just been left abandoned next to Adelaide Cottage,” said the source. If the Wales family decides to renovate the property, it will give them plenty of space and take them off the consideration list for Royal Lodge.”

The Wales family – who moved to the Berkshire estate towards the end of summer in 2022 – currently split their time between the four bedroom cottage and their beloved Anmer Hall retreat on the Sandringham Estate.

While Adelaide Cottage provides the perfect location thanks to its proximity to Lambrook School where Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis attend, sources say the family are looking at plans to extend the currently empty annexe – thought to be worth around £1 million in its current state – to allow for more space.
