Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City Chiefs might use Taylor Swift made play

The Kansas City Chiefs have won three Super Bowls in five years, and now Patrick Mahomes says they could incorporate a few plays from an unlikely source.

Welcome back to the world of NFL football to all the Swifties! After a long offseason and an Eras Tour, Taylor Swift will most likely take center stage on Thursday, September 5th when the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens kickoff the regular season from Arrowhead.

It’s been a long time since we have talked about Taylor in an NFL context, but get ready because it’s coming in waves over the next few months. Ever since the worlds biggest pop star and the three-time Super Bowl champion tight end started getting cozy, there has been a merging of sports and entertainment like we have never seen before.

The Chiefs were already the newest dynasty of the NFL even before Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce made it official. Patrick Mahomes was a two-time NFL MVP, with one of the best tight ends in the game and and offense that was irresistibly watchable. They were a big draw before they got a heavy helping of Swiftie fandom, and now they have to be the most heavily supported team in the league, solely because of the pop stars influence.

The first time Swift attended a Chiefs game was almost a year ago. The Chiefs played the Bears at Arrowhead in a Week 3 game on September 24th. While she didn’t make it to every game, her presence was felt in the stadium and on camera throughout the season all the way up to Super Bowl Sunday in Las Vegas.

Swift is not only a super fan, now she’s starting to talk Xs and Os. Patrick Mahomes told NBC’s Chris Simms that Swift has been an amazing influence on the game and a down to earth person despite her fame and fortune.

“I think it’s been cool to see the girls and the women that have really embraced watching football,” Mahomes said of Swift. “I know being a girl dad, how cool it is for me to see like these little girls — these daughters — and how much they’re loving to spend time with their dad, watching football. And then meeting Taylor, realizing how genuine and cool she is. I think that’s been special to me because she’s, like you said, the most famous person in the world, she could not be (more genuine).”
